The Podkarpacki Subdivision of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Rzeszów warns against Aspen Holding. Persons who "declared their intention to invest their funds and undertook actions initiated by representatives of the entity" are asked to "inform the nearest police unit or prosecutor's office about this fact". We learn more from the announcement: "Recruitment of people interested in investing in cryptocurrencies took place through media releases containing a link with an address referring to the Aspen Holding website. Contact with each of the victims was made by phone on the initiative of persons claiming to be client advisors from numbers with the initial combination 48 71 716 (...). After contact was established, a number of financial operations were carried out, using foreign internet exchange offices and investment platforms. The findings of the investigation so far indicate that the disclosed victims have lost all their invested funds." Multi-million dollar losses Gazeta Wyborcza also wrote about the case. - The losses exceed several million zlotys, while individual losses range from 1 thousand to over 700 thousand zlotys. The victims come from all over the country - said Marta Tabasz-Rygiel, spokesperson of the Regional Police Headquarters in Rzeszów. It is known that fabricated interviews with celebrities were used to promote the project. - These were usually interviews in which public figures were supposed to encourage investment in, among other things, cryptocurrencies through the Aspen Holding entity. These articles were faked every time. Links to them were placed, among others, on popular social networking sites - said Undersecretary Tabasz-Rygiel. Additionally, various manipulations and tricks were used. - The scammers, in order to put pressure on the buyers, introduced a countdown clock in the articles, arguing that the number of places to register was limited. In order to register, it was necessary to provide personal information, phone number and email address. Within a short time, a "consultant" would call back the number provided to the person interested in investing. During the conversation the consultant assured the person about the legal activity of Aspen Holding and a possibility of getting a quick investment profit. In order to start cooperation it was necessary to pay an entry fee in the amount of $250, which enabled the establishment of an individual investment account - the police representative added.
