Cinemagoers and followers of cryptocurrencies can now watch online the trailer of "Crypto", a thriller film that features the theme of Bitcoin and other digital currencies. News that such a production is being lined up in Hollywood emerged back in 2018. The average movie-goer might have been curious about the fact that the film is to feature Kurt Russell, who is aging in a way that any actor would probably dream of. After all, he made a name for himself as an action movie star in the 80's, and today - instead of cutting coupons on his former popularity - he plays in more and more interesting movies, just to mention "The Hateful Eight" or the pastiche "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2". How will he do in "Crypto"? Cryptocurrencies are evil However, judging by the trailer itself, the new production, in which we will see Russell, will be rather less ambitious story. The main protagonist will be a U.S. Secret Service agent who fights against the criminal underworld. The mafia, as is customary, decides to "launder" a large amount of money. The one in "Crypto", however, relies on technological innovations and for this purpose uses cryptocurrencies. In the announcement of the production we can see how terrified characters analyze the composition of the e-wallet decorated with logos of Bitcoin and other e-currencies, in which a considerable fortune has been deposited. Our hero has to face the criminals and for this purpose he returns to his hometown, where his father and brother still live. There he becomes entangled in a scandal, in which important roles are to be played by a mafia accountant and a hacker, who is also a fan of cryptocurrencies. As you can see, there is rather nothing to count on looking at cryptocurrencies with a favorable eye. In the "Crypto" world, Bitcoin is a tool of the forces of evil. At least that's what the trailer suggests... The world premiere of the film is scheduled for April 12, 2019. Bitcoin is no novice This isn't the cryptocurrency's first "role" in a movie. For example, the characters of "CSI: Cyber" - a series from the world of the popular series about FBI employees - talked about Bitcoin. A series about the cryptocurrency market is also expected to be made in the near future. Actor Kevin Connolly announced that he is preparing the production of "Cryptos", which will help the public better understand the world of blockchain technology. The story of the series is to tell about a young startup trying its hand at the market of the new technology.
