Ford has released a report analyzing consumer trends for the coming year. Published in the first half of this month, Looking Further with Ford 2015 Trends, focuses largely on the young generation that is increasingly dominating the current market, whose choices are largely motivated by the needs of mobility and convenience.   The author of the report, is Ford employee Sheryl Connelly, who, by her own admission, has spent more than a decade researching trends and analyzing how they may shape our future.   Connelly refers to today's young generation as Generation Z (Gen Z) - the first truly global generation to be raised in a technology-enabled, on-demand culture - and thus perfectly familiar with it. It is this generation that, although not yet fully socially mature, is also already actively shaping broader consumer behavior.   Not uncharacteristic of Ford's analysis is also the propensity of young people to embrace mobile technology, including these types of payment methods. Bitcoin, Apple Pay and Google Wallet (listed exactly in that order) have the greatest potential to conquer this particular service market, according to the report.   According to the report, as of June 2013, there were over 61 million active mobile payment accounts worldwide. It is estimated that it is expected to increase to about 450 million by 2017.   45% of young respondents (the generation born after 2000) interviewed in the Ford survey say they see no problem in associating their personal payment information with a mobile device for quick and convenient transactions. One in four respondents in this age bracket said they had used this type of service at least once in the past year alone.   The report also uses the example of the Philippine website Coins.ph, whose mobile Bitcoin wallet application allows for such transactions and even more importantly (from the perspective of current market demand) easy, convenient, fast and cheap international transfers.   Ford's report also highlights the potential for mobile payments on the African continent and the contribution it is already making - Africa accounts for 52% of current global mobile payment technology usage.     Any reproduction, distribution, electronic processing or transmission of content from the bitcoin.pl website requires the prior consent of the portal.   Tags bitcoin Ford Ford Motor Company consumers consumer cryptocurrencies payments report market trends
