We don't necessarily associate the auto industry with cryptocurrencies, but that has just changed.     We don't necessarily associate the auto industry with cryptocurrencies, but that has just changed.   Car manufacturer Daimler AG, best known for its flagship Mercedes brand, has a subsidiary called Daimler Financial Services. This one, in turn, in recent days purchased Luxembourg-registered PayCash Europe. PayCash deals with mobile payments, including bitcoin payments. Its offer includes services of accepting payments and conversion to fiat currencies, but also e.g. payment terminals supporting BTC payments via QR code. Daimler's strategic goal is to provide customers with convenient payment channels for increasingly popular services involving car rental or car sharing. Daimler currently has more than 4 million cars that are rented, leased or shared in one way or another. This form of car use is gaining popularity. More and more users are moving away from buying a car on their own. Most of these new forms of car financing need fast and low cost forms of money flow. One such form is Bitcoin and Daimler probably won't abandon it after acquiring ready-made solutions. So maybe soon in most European cities we will be able to rent a Mercedes paying in BTC.   photo: Pixabay.com   Tags bitcoin btc Mercedes payment processor
