One of the largest bitcoin payment processors, Coinbase, is responsible for handling donations in BTC. Coinbase announced on its blog that it will not charge any commissions for its services. According to Mozilla's vice president Geoffrey MacDougall, the BTC donation has been planned for quite some time, however, such a large foundation needs time to work out all the legal and technical aspects.
