A major health insurer in Switzerland has enabled its customers to pay in Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). Insurance for cryptocurrencies As announced on August 31, Atupri Health Insurance has started a partnership with cryptocurrency finance company Bitcoin Suisse. The partnership aims to enable payments in BTC and ETH for the insurer's 200,000 customers. Atupri, based in Bern, will not hold any digital assets itself. It will receive payments in Swiss francs when BTC or ETH is exchanged by Bitcoin Suisse. Customers of the insurance company - with annual sales of about $887 million as of 2019 - will pay for any mining-related fees. Bitcoin Suisse holds more than $1 billion in assets and has been involved in various financial sectors for some time.
