Recently, an article appeared on the gazeta.pl website describing how to easily buy heroin using the Internet, specifically the Tor network and bitcoin. Shortly after the article was published, the topic was brought up on a popular TV show "Pytanie na śniadanie". Fortunately, the reputation of bitcoin was saved by the perpetrator of the whole confusion, who stated that "bitcoin is not a currency only for buying illegal goods, you can actually buy everything with it, there are many stores in the world that respect this currency". This is where the problem arises, which unfortunately bitcoin can be used for, but it should also be noted that similar anonymity of purchases is provided by cash. Bitcoin is the next breakthrough that will revolutionize online micropayments. Unfortunately, just as a store-bought knife can be used for crime, bitcoin can be used as an anonymous form of payment to purchase drugs. It's not the idea of bitcoin itself that's bad, it's one of the ways it's being used. Similarly, the Tor network, which has been around since 2004 and is a major tool in countries where personal freedom is severely restricted (e.g. China), serves a noble cause.
