As it turns out, the Euronet ATM network has again set a limit for single cash withdrawal. This information has already been confirmed by the company's press office. You will not be able to withdraw more than... only 1000 PLN from the machines. What is the reason for this? Is Poland already starting to run out of cash? Euronet has limited cash withdrawals Ewa Miziołek, director of marketing and sales support for Euronet Poland, commented on the matter for PRNews: "Due to the significant increase in the number of cash withdrawals in recent months, on March 16, 2020 we introduced a limit of a single transaction of PLN 1,000. The limit applies to ATMs and pay-as-you-go ATMs for cash withdrawal transactions made with a card or contactless. The limit was introduced to ensure that as many customers as possible have access to cash." Is this really a sign that the country is starting to run out of cash to refill ATMs with? Reportedly no... "There is no problem with the lack of cash in the Polish banking system and the supply of cash to ATMs. Of course, any ATM may run out of money for a while if there is a high interest in cash withdrawals, but these are occasional cases. However, it should be remembered that apart from ATMs operated by bank networks, there are also machines owned by independent operators," he explained. - Przemysław Barbrich, spokesman of the Polish Bank Association, explained in turn in an interview with "Fakt". This is not the first time such blockade... It is not the first time, when Euronet operator introduces such a blockade. We experienced something similar a few years ago. But then it was only about lowering network maintenance costs. For an ATM owner it is more profitable, when customers often withdraw smaller amounts. For each withdrawal a fixed fee is charged. Now Euronet customers can still withdraw higher amounts but they have to divide it into several withdrawals. For example if you want to withdraw 10 000 PLN you have to withdraw 10 times 1000 PLN. However, this is not very convenient, especially if you want to use an ATM, which is very popular and thus create a large queue Remember that in the case of ATMs, which are available on the Polish market, you do not have such restrictions.
