It's April Fool's Day, so there are a lot of jokes going around the world. Craig Wright seems to want to be serious though. Yesterday he wrote in his blog post that Satoshi Nakamoto - that is, Wright's version of himself - has never published anything on Bitcointalk. Craig Wright: I have never used Bitcointalk Wright wrote: "It is a myth that all posts on Bitcointalk (bitcointalk.org) from my account (Satoshi) are in fact mine and have not been edited or changed (...). Satoshi (me) has never used bitcointalk." But why is someone trying to "create" their version of the BTC and "bitcointalk" Nakamoto story, so to speak? "The reason is simple: not everyone wanted my version of Bitcoin. (...) However, it seems strange to me that not many people are researching the truth. (...) I am not the anarchist they want, nor have I ever been one. You see, I didn't want WikiLeaks to use Bitcoin because I didn't like what they represented. Bitcoin was never designed to act illegally. Even though Bitcoin has been seized, even though my domain has been taken from me, and even though people have decided to try to make my invention into a system that will help Silk Road and [the] drug trafficking market, over time we will discover that Bitcoin leaves a trail. It is the worst possible thing that criminals would want to take advantage of." - Wright asserts. Recall that Satoshi Nakamoto published his last post on the famous bitcoin forum in 2011. Madman or fraudster? Craig Wright is that figure you either love or hate. He is one of the most controversial (fascinating?) people to ever operate in the cryptocurrency industry. For the past few years, he has insisted that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, and thus the one who created Bitcoin. In recent months, he even had to prove it in court. To put it mildly - he failed. Today there are still more facts proving that he was not behind the creation of BTC. What's more, his role in cooperation with David Kleiman, with whom he dug cryptocurrencies in the first months of BTC's operation, is not clear. He reportedly took over his share of the digital currencies after the latter's mysterious death in 2013. That's what the case in court was about, with Wright being sued by the heirs of his former partner. Tags bitcontalk Craig Wright who was satoshi nakamoto Satoshi Nakamoto
