- If you receive a phone call from a bank employee who suddenly asks you for your login or password - do not give it at all, because this data belongs only to you and no one has the right to take it from you - warns... Katarzyna Pakosińska, who participates in the new edition of the educational campaign of the Warsaw Banking Institute. Take care of your data - Cybercrime is no longer just spam sent to everyone via email. Now cybercriminals are up to their tricks and they can strike specifically - for example at you - warns all of us as part of an online educational campaign prepared for the banking sector by Katarzyna Pakosińska, an artist known from the Kabaret Moralnego Niepokoju cabaret. The video is devoted to stealing personal data over the phone. It is a kind of quite primitive cyber attack, so called SpyWindow. Although the premise is simple, such theft attempts turn out to be very effective and thus these actions are very dangerous. Cyber thieves want to seize your login credentials to online or mobile banking systems. To achieve this they usually call the customer pretending to be a bank employee. Unaware people give them this information. Bankers, on whose behalf this educational campaign is created, therefore now warn such customers against being too gullible. The campaign adds that the key to the success of cyber criminals is the vulnerability of victims to various methods of social engineering. "Unaware of manipulation, a person is able to succumb to suggestion and, under the influence of emotion, makes a mistake that enables criminals to carry out a successful attack," warns the narrator of the video featuring Pakosińska. - Pakosińska talks about serious issues in a slightly frivolous tone, but she knows her stuff - explain the originators of the new action. Katarzyna Pakosińska is not the only face of the campaign which is currently being carried out under the "Bankers for Education" program in cooperation with the Cyber Security Center and over 20 banks. Earlier episodes were produced with the participation of popular TV presenters - Beata Tadla and Maciej Orłoś. You have to take care of yourselves Remember that you are co-responsible for your safety on the Internet. This applies both to banking services and those on the cryptocurrency market.
