Wiper: Private Texts and Calls, is a free, privacy-focused messenger for mobile devices. With its help, we can make encrypted phone or text calls, with the possibility of deleting conversation data not only from our phone or tablet, but also from the co-counselor's device. Now Wiper extends its application with a built-in bitcoin wallet.   People using the communicator get the possibility to make BTC payments both between users of the app (outside the blockchain) and in the "classic way", using external bitcoin addresses.   The CEO of Wiper, Manlio Carrelli, in order to emphasize the popularity of this type of solution gives the example of another messenger Snapchat, which decided to extend its functionality in a similar way, however, only for traditional payments. Snapcash requires both parties of the transaction to have access to bank accounts or payment cards.   We are interested in a huge customer base that does not have access to traditional payment systems." - says Carrelli   New York-based Wiper Inc. released its messenger service back in June last year. By then, it had already recorded about 10 million downloads. The bitcoin wallet feature was added early last month.   Such advanced control over the privacy aspects of the messenger has not been seen on a larger scale in apps of this type before. In the case of Wiper, users get full control over the content of their conversations, determining themselves how long they will remain in the system. The chat logs are not recorded. Wiper even informs its users when their co-counselor takes a screenshot or forwards a graphic or video file received from them.   Carrelli says bitcoin seemed like a natural extension for this kind of application, not least because of both solutions' approach to privacy issues. Launching the bitcoin wallet feature takes several seconds. With a few clicks, Messenger users are instantly given the ability to complete fast and cheap transactions with global reach.   It's a simple and intuitive way to provide some 2.5 billion people without access to traditional financial tools with a simple and intuitive solution like this." - says Carelli.   The Wiper wallet is generated using a deterministic key, which means that based on the password we receive when generating a new wallet, we are able to recreate all the addresses we have used so far, but also all those we will use in the future.   The wallet should work very well for everyday use with small amounts of BTC, however due to the fact that at the moment it lacks such security systems as two-step authentication or multisig we do not recommend it for the administration of larger amounts of cryptocurrency.   Wiper Inc. plans to further expand the wallet's functionality - including adding support for other cryptocurrencies as well as the ability to convert bitcoin to local currencies.   Wiper can be downloaded for free from Google Play and App Store.     Any reproduction, distribution, electronic processing and transmission of content from bitcoin.pl website requires prior consent of the portal.   Tags Android, app security bitcoin ios messenger cryptocurrencies payments wallet privacy
