A gold market veteran and Bitcoin (BTC) skeptic in one person, Peter Schiff, has received about $1,350 worth of BTC from the cryptocurrency community. All as part of the donations he received on July 4. Schiff, who is well known for warning investors not to buy bitcoin or consider it as an alternative to gold, recently got into a Twitter discussion with Morgan Creek Digital co-founder Anthony Pompliano. The latter accused him of actually owning some parts of Bitcoin despite speaking negatively about cryptocurrencies. Schiff replied that it was rather a symbolic amount. This is because he received BTC as a gift. Today, a portion of the cryptocurrency given to a bullion supporter is worth only $100. Pompliano then came up with an interesting idea. He asked Peter for the BTC address, on which Peter has deposited funds in the digital currency. When he received it... he doubled the value of his wallet. In the wake of the action, Schiff's wallet already contained the equivalent of more than $1,440 (0.128 BTC) after a total of dozens of transactions credited it with funds. Schiff has earned himself the image of a crypto skeptic, but in reality, he's not as clear-cut a figure as some make him out to be.
