Another picture about Bitcoin, tentatively titled "theBITmovie Project," is just being made. Filmmakers Scott Glass and Lee Poichuk are currently on tour filming an episodic documentary about the Bitcoin phenomenon. The filmmakers are mainly highlighting the cryptocurrency's impact on travel, consumer convenience, philanthropy, and many other factors that affect our daily lives.   Over the course of the upcoming month, the directing duo is scheduled to visit 40 U.S. and Canadian cities including Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Pensacola, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Austin, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago and Detroit, among others. During their tour, the creators will conduct a series of interviews with Bitcoin users: customers, vendors, technologists, legislators, and financiers. All with the goal of finding answers to a question that troubles many: how Bitcoin can change our lives.   Glass and Poichuk describe the idea behind their film themselves:   We set out on this journey not only to promote Bitcoin, but also to explore the true meaning of the whole idea. In our opinion, Bitcoin is still in its early stages. We want to educate the audience through our film. (...) Through our journey and experiences, we learn that Bitcoin has great potential to impact our economic lives. Whether it's about earning, spending or giving money to others, we explain what a revolution Bitcoin can be."   {outube}2j5dSCc5MQY{/youtube} {outube}6y2B4mvdcB8{/youtube}   It's worth mentioning that the directing duo is gifting donations in BTC to local charities of the cities they visit.   "theBITmovie Project" will not be the first movie about cryptocurrencies. This year, we premiered "The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin," which was screened at several European festivals. The picture, while getting mostly positive reviews, was mainly aimed at people who already knew and supported Bitcoin. Individual accusations of being too "nerdy" can therefore be considered valid in this case.   Other productions devoted to the cryptocurrency are also worth a look. Life on Bitcoin" may seem especially friendly to a viewer unfamiliar with the subject, telling the story of a young couple who, as part of a social experiment, agreed to live only on bitcoins. From an economic angle, the theme is to be taken up by "I Am Satoshi" and "Bitcoin: The End of Money As We Know It" (funds for the production were raised through the Kickstarter portal), whose official premieres are scheduled for December.   On YouTube, fans of cryptocurrencies will also easily find the more exotic Japanese "Froontline in Bitcoin" and the shorts "Bitcoin in Uganda" or "Bitcoin in Argentina". Especially the last two titles present the impact that Bitcoin and its derivative e-currencies can have on the lives of societies in third world countries. The topic of cryptocurrencies will probably be discussed in documentaries more than once. The story of Bitcoin's creation and the mysterious figure of Satoshi Nakamoto, with a bit of imagination on the part of the scriptwriter, makes for an intriguing thriller. Will we live to see such a production?   Jacek Walewski    Photo: https://www.facebook.com/theBITmovie   Tags bitcoin film travel theBITmovie Project
