Elon Musk seems to have made his mark on the blockchain market for good. He has now issued his NFT token. He informed about this fact on Twitter. Elon Musk with his NFT Musk posted a video on Twitter that shows an animated gold trophy. It is decorated with the words "vanity trophy", "HODL" and "computers never sleep". A song can be heard in the background. The whole thing represents an NFT token and is for sale. The tweet itself, in turn, appeared on the Valuables platform, where fans of the Tesla boss can make offers to... buy it. Where did the idea to sell NFT come from, anyway? Probably Musk is fooling around again or decided to follow the path of his life partner - singer Grimes. In early March, she unveiled her digital art collection titled "WarNymph" online. She has already earned over $5.8 million from its sale. The WarNymph of the title is a child who, according to the artist, represents "a state of infinite infancy in which she sheds her old skin of corruption" and "fights against the destructive force of outdated ideas and systemic decay that threatens the future." NFT fashion It is worth noting that NFTs are becoming an increasingly popular model for selling art rights. Apart from Grimes, this model was used, for example, by the band Kings of Leon, who also released their new album in the form of tokens. The latter contained the rights to files with the group's latest music, but also other privileges. Fans who bought one of the three types of NFT will now have, among other things, rights to better seats at the band's concerts. A few days ago, another famous musician from the electronic scene, Aphex Twin, also released his own NFT. The token appeared on a special platform where auctions of individual artists' works are held. Technocrat It is worth adding that in the case of Musk, NFT can be a joke. The businessman is famous for his strange sense of humor. He recently declared himself... technocrat of Tesla. The relevant documents, concerning the change of position in the company, were sent to the SEC. They state that Musk is no longer CEO, but technocrat. In turn, the chief financial officer, Zack Kirhorn, became... the elder over the coin. This is already an obvious reference to "Game of Thrones". In George R. R. Martin's world, this was the name of the ruler's advisor who managed the country's finances. Tags Blockchain Elon Musk NFT Elon Musk's NFT tokens

Wikipedia recognizes donations in Bitcoin Cash
Users from all over the world can now support the popular free e-encyclopedia Wikipedia by making donations to it expressed in Bitcoin Cash via Bitpay. The Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organization that operates Wikipedia and similar free knowledge dissemination projects, partnered some time ago with Bitpay, a popular cryptocurrency payment processor. All so that the organization can accept donations in Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and "regular" Bitcoin (BTC). In fact, the Wikimedia Foundation has been accepting payments in BTC since 2014. Previously, Coinbase was responsible for their processing, but recently Bitpay took over the baton, which has now provided the opportunity to expand the choice of cryptocurrency with the popular fork. "Our donors have shown a growing interest in various cryptocurrencies, so accepting Bitcoin Cash was a natural next step. We accept donations worldwide and are committed to providing a wide range of donation options. It is very important for us to be able to process international donations in an efficient and cost-effective manner." -Pats Pena, Director of Payments and Operations at the Wikimedia Foundation, told the media. It's an honor to help Bitpay has partnered with many large nonprofit organizations to allow them to accept cryptocurrency donations. The company reports that these types of donations have grown strongly over the past few years, especially in late 2018 when people were looking ... ways for paying less tax. The company's system has consequently processed several million donations to nonprofit organizations recently, and it expects that trend to continue in 2019. "Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin are some of the cheapest payment options available, so more money goes to charity than to fees. Wikimedia does so much good around the world that it's a privilege to be able to help raise money [for them]," - said Sonny Singh, chief merchant at Bitpay. Recently, Bitpay bragged about its high jump in performance in 2018. The service processed more than $1 billion in payments during the year and set a new record for transaction fee revenue by adding new customers with it. The company's B2B business was also record-breaking, as it grew nearly 255 percent from 2017. Tags bitcoin Bitcoin Cash bitpay Wikimedia Wikipedia

Gavin Andresen - why do we need a block size limit?
Since Satoshi introduced the block limit in July 2010, a lot has changed online. Do we even need this limit? Since Satoshi introduced the block limit in July 2010, a lot has changed online. Do we even need this limit? This article is based on an article by Gavin Andresen - Bitcoin Classic developer Satoshi introduced the 1MB limit as a protection of the network against a DoS (Denial of Service - preventing or significantly slowing down the normal operation of the system) attack. In 2010, the number of transactions was small, the price of BTC oscillated around a few cents. Buying BTC on the exchange just to produce small transactions in order to build large blocks represented a small cost: 50BTC from mining a block was worth just $1.5. And from such a number of coins you can generate a huge number of transactions and effectively block the network. Without an upper limit on block size, an attacker could greatly overload all nodes and waste large amounts of user disk space. The introduction of the cap has helped to limit the scope of such an attack. Compared to 2010, the current price is about $400 and with a 25BTC reward per block, an attacker would have to have over $10`000 to perform a similar operation. While the sacrifice of $2 "for fun" was realistic, spending $10`000 is definitely out of reach for the average joker. The second source of attack on the network are transactions requiring a very large amount of computing power for verification. Such an attack has never happened (although it was described in detail back in 2013), and the recently introduced BIP109 patch makes it virtually impossible. The disk capacities available to the common user are growing very fast, and it doesn't look like this limitation would affect the further development of the project and the ability of home users to run full Core nodes. So why are developers so stubbornly standing by a limit that has failed to serve its primary purpose for quite some time? Based on 2010 data, the maximum block size could be several orders of magnitude larger than 1MB (back then the network was confirming a few hundred transactions per day, now it's hundreds of thousands of transactions). We know how to change this limit, we know safe methods of introducing hardfork, what's stopping us? From the point of view of network users, the current situation is unacceptable. You wait longer and longer for a transaction confirmation despite paying much higher fees. Increasing network capacity in the short term would relieve the existing "traffic jam" of unconfirmed transactions and bring the network back up to speed. The only counter-indication seems to be the limitations of Internet connections. Despite the significant increase in the number of transactions on the network, the transaction and block transmission protocol itself has not changed substantially over the years. Without making changes to the P2P protocol (e.g., Xtreme Thinblocks), there is little to dream that mines from China would support a project to significantly increase block size. However, the proposed block hardfork to 2MB is accepted by all and should be implemented as soon as possible. Also, there are no contraindications to introduce Xtreme Thinblocks, which are already a solution ready for possible implementation. There is already enough development of protocols and traffic analysis in the network that running a change to automatic block sizing is not a problem either. All that remains is to convince the largest mines to adopt and support a single project so that the changes come into effect as soon as possible. Blockchain-based voting in Russia fails
According to Russian media reports, the new blockchain-based voting system is not at all as perfect as proponents of this new technology would like. Voting with problems The electronic voting, which runs from June 25 to 30, is dedicated to residents of Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod. It is also based on the Exonum blockchain platform developed by Bitfury. The solution allegedly helped encrypt voters' votes to ensure full anonymity, security and immutability of their data. Residents of Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod can vote offline (i.e. using ballots dropped into the polls) or online via a special website, which RIA news agency reported, however, was unavailable for the first few hours after the election process began. According to the official Central Election Commission, the outage occurred due to "peak demand" from voters. Meanwhile, Otkritiye Media reported that only 494 Moscow residents voted during the first hour. Thus, the excessive load should not have occurred. Meduza, a local news service, in turn reports that electronic voting showed "strange results in some regions." For example, nearly as many as 7,300 people assigned in the system to a polling station in the Troitsky Administrative District registered to vote online, despite the district having only 2,358 residents eligible to vote. The local election commission said it was a "technical glitch." A local journalist, Pavel Lobkov, meanwhile, described how he managed to vote through the system twice yesterday: he initially voted offline at his polling station and then online an hour later. CEC head Ella Pamfilova called Lobkov's actions a "provocation." Cointelegraph contacted Bitfury to discuss the reported problems, but the company declined to comment. The vote is important to Putin The vote is important to Vladimir Putin himself. This is because it is about constitutional amendments that will allow him to remain in the Kremlin for six more years, which means in practice that he can be president until 2026. It is unclear whether the technological problems are the result of "holes" in the blockchain itself, or just other technologies that were used in designing the system.
